Se la define como una propiedad f\u00edsica <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">que determina la capacidad de fluir de este l\u00edquido a una temperatura dada, sobre los componentes y piezas del motor. Hoy en d\u00eda, el universo de temas vinculados a la viscosidad sigue siendo una de las consultas m\u00e1s recurrentes entre los especialistas del sector y de los conductores en general, por este motivo, la marca de lubricantes Mobil resume los puntos fundamentales para que los profesionales mec\u00e1nicos tengan las actualizaciones y herramientas necesarias a fin de que puedan asesorar a sus clientes.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Los aceites lubricantes pueden presentarse con distintos grados de viscosidades: una mayor fluidez del aceite significa que tiene viscosidad baja, mientras que, a menor fluidez, el aceite presenta una viscosidad alta. La resistencia al flujo de un aceite var\u00eda seg\u00fan la temperatura. A temperaturas mayores, los aceites lubricantes pierden viscosidad mientras que, al enfriarse, la fluidez del l\u00edquido disminuye y la viscosidad aumenta. Es por esto que, al momento de utilizar un aceite lubricante, hay que tener en cuenta la temperatura a la que opera un veh\u00edculo o maquinaria: si opera en altas temperaturas, se necesita utilizar con un fluido de alta viscosidad que, al calentarse, disminuya su viscosidad y mantenga una pel\u00edcula m\u00ednima que separe las superficies y evite la fricci\u00f3n; mientras que a temperaturas bajas se necesitara un fluido de baja viscosidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">La viscosidad se asocia tambi\u00e9n a la capacidad de soportar cargas. Si tenemos una carga muy alta y bajas velocidades, necesitamos aceites de m\u00e1s alta viscosidad. Por el contrario, si la carga es liviana se necesitan aceites con m\u00e1s baja viscosidad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un aceite de baja viscosidad<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">reduce el espesor de la pel\u00edcula de aceite, permite el contacto de metal a metal, genera un mayor desgaste de las superficies, y hay que tener en cuenta que una gran reducci\u00f3n podr\u00eda provocar fallos prematuros en los rodamientos. Por otro lado, una alta viscosidad restringe el rendimiento del lubricante, puede causar restricci\u00f3n en los filtros, genera calor excesivo en el sistema y puede causar oxidaci\u00f3n prematura y acelerar el desgaste y la corrosi\u00f3n.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Como la viscosidad cambia con las temperaturas, las clasificaciones se basan en rangos de viscosidad medidos a temperaturas estandarizadas. A su vez, actualmente hay una serie de clasificaciones establecidas a nivel mundial, que permiten estandarizar el grado de viscosidad.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un tema no menor a tener en cuenta, es que no todas las viscosidades est\u00e1n desarrolladas para cualquier motor.
